The key thing to remember about silver is that it charts in parabolic curve. That is, it rises with slight drawbacks until it reaches an apex from which it USUALLY plunges. The longterm investor in silver must watch the curve and decide if elements are in place for silver to drop precipitously.
Silver rose splendidly in 2011, reaching $50 an ounce. It now steadily proceeds around $31 an ounce. This is certainly a big shot compared to a couple of years ago, but the question is, have we seen the highs, or is this a consolidation period from whence the silver will explode to the upside.
