I went to a Gold Prospectors of America Association fair today in Deer Valley, Az. On display were a number of machines for processing placer gold. I enjoy panning, but have wanted to be able to process more material at our claims so have shopped for a drywasher or highbanker.
A drywasher jiggles and shakes material down a a sideways V-shaped sifter while blowing air up and through to blow away any light material mixed in. That way you have a concentrate at the end that you can pan – and it will have, in theory, more gold in it than if you just dumped a shovel of dirt in a pan and went from there.
A highbanker looks a lot the same except it pumps water at the top which carries the light material away down a sluice. You clean riffle pads that collect the placer gold after operating awhile.
What I learned is that you can buy a MINI HIGH BANKER for around $340, much more in my price range. I saw it run today and am impressed. I think I will wish for it for Christmas! HA
I was inspired to write a review of an air purifier for 3 reasons. The first was that my wife had improved the quality of her breathing when I bought the Enviracaire 60000 by Honeywell.
Secondly, our neighbor who suffers from allergy knew about the way we were trying to handle my wife’s problem, and decided after talking to my wife to get one also.
And thirdly, I had never written a product review on HubPages before. It proved not a simple matter.
All the details are available at http://hubpages.com/hub/An-Air-Purifier-for-the-Home-Honeywell-Enviracaire-60000 . If you suffer from allergy nasal congestion, get an air purifier. Read my article about this one, but seriously consider getting something. It’s worth it.

This latest article at HubPages is about reasons for buying silver. In particular, reasons that people buy silver bullion. The most popular form of silver bullion is the American Silver Eagle One Dollar Coin.
Since its inception nearly 25 years ago, the Eagle’s acceptance and popularity has surpassed all expectations. Originally, the Eagle was created to sell off a national defense supply of the precious metal. It was felt that the quantity held by the USA was far more than need, and was seen as a way to lower the federal debt.
With shaky financial markets worldwide, more and more people have decided to hold silver, both as a source of income and future barter.
I detail 6 reasons that I could wrap my mind around, for people to want silver, especially Silver Eagles. There are more reasons out there I am sure, and if you would like to comment, that would be great.

The basin has a huge lake (Lake Roosevelt), and half way through the basin you will find some of the most amazing cliff dwellings. These beautiful homes were built with native rock and stuccoed. With roofs that were made of saguaro ribs and mesquite headers over windows and doors, this place provided ample food for wandering tribes.
The people who built the cliff dwellings (which are now a National Park treasure) are referred to as the Salado people. They originally settled in this area of the Salt River (salado) while human congestion provided the incentive to move to higher ground.
I have an article along with a slide show that goes into more detail and is set up a bit like a tour guide. If you are interested in finding out more about this, please click the following link. http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Cliff-Dwellings-of-the-Tonto-Basin-AZ-Salado-People
Having had quite a few problems related to sensitive skin over the years, I have learned a thing or two about these troubles. Hence, I have written a number of articles in some detail about eczema, etc.
One particular condition known as Atopic Dermatitis I have been able to address a bit lightheartedly because of an experience at the age of 19. A sudden rash with the worst itch I have ever encountered left me ready to beg for help. When I finally could see a doctor, what he had to say didn’t seem to make sense. It was as if the doctor wanted to treat me for a cold instead of a skin problem. But be that as it may, the doctor knew what he was doing, and this article will explain the skin problem and the nature of my confusion. I hope it helps make a subject which granted can be dry have a little humor to it – if that is possible when you itch!!!
If you would like to learn about this dermatitis and to follow a teenager’s experience, try checking this HubPages article out http://hubpages.com/hub/Atopic-Dermatitis-Allergay-and-Eczema-Symptoms
