We have a lot of alternatives for home lighting these days. With more and more people wanting to be green, a knowledge of the power each type uses in important.
I have written an article about Incandescent light bulbs and halogen light bulbs, describing most of the difference between the two (without getting overly scientific for the average reader). The descriptions of the two are complete and power consumption is a relevant part of the article. A large lists of pros and cons for halogen lights are given; I thought most people are familiar enough with incandescents to drop such a pro and con list.
In an earlier WordPress post I wrote another article on CFL bulbs, including a personal power evaluation after I converted 100% to CFL twists. http://hubpages.com/hub/A-Description-Comparison-of-Incandescent-Light-Bulbs-and-Halogen-Light-Bulbs
For information (as indicated above) on power savings using CFL twists, see http://hubpages.com/hub/How-Does-a-Regular-Incandescent-Bulb-Compare-to-a-Compact-Fluorescent-One
